On October 21st the NBA season started with the Warriors beating the Lakers and the Thunder beating the Rockets. The Warriors beat the Lakers even with a 43 point near triple-double performance from Luka Doncic. The Thunder and Rockets had a 2-overtime thriller with Shai Gilgeous Alexander scoring 35 points to seal the victory.
There are plenty of teams looking to make a run this season. The Houston Rockets have a new addition of Kevin Durant, the Thunder look to go back-to-back, the Spurs have their rising star in Victor Wembanyama and the Knicks look to finally make it the finals.
Many players look to take home to prestigious mantle of MVP, with candidates like Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama and Steph Curry all try their hardest to win that trophy.
This year’s rookie class is one to look out for as names like Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper and V.J. Edgecombe have been playing great so far. V.J. Edgecombe scored the most points in a NBA debut since Wilt Chamberlain in 1959 and Dylan Harper has been playing great alongside Stephon Castle on the Spurs.
Lastly, The Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, our home teams have been doing okay as the Lakers are 2-2 with Lebron being sidelined with a lower back and leg injury. The Clippers are doing a bit better at 2-1 from the duo of James Harden and Kawhi Leonard.
