If you are looking to make an impact, apply to volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse in Laguna Hills! You are not only helping others, but also creating connections with others while also having fun. You can reach out on their website.
GiGi’s Playhouse offers a wide range of volunteer options, including tutoring, helping with administration, starting your own program, assisting with event, joining committee, and group volunteering. They work to make this an enjoyable experience for both the volunteer and individual with Down Syndrome.
Focusing on the tutoring, it is quite easy to sign up. After signing up, you must complete an online training session that is about an hour and a half. After this, you are certified and ready to start tutoring! If you enjoy helping others and enjoy math, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
You will be paired one to one with an individual who is looking to be tutored. The goal is to help them do even a little better than they did at the last session! In tutoring just one hour per week in the Literacy and Math program, you can change the life of a person with Down syndrome.
