Every year, Disneyland opens its gates on a special occasion, to celebrate Valentine’s Day! This Valentine-themed event takes place from January 22 to February 17 after the park’s regular hours and lasts from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. This is a very popular event and often sells out quickly as this is a truly fun and unique opportunity for Disney lovers. Included in this after-hours extravaganza is entertainment, specialty treats, and shorter attraction lines.

The starting price for one of these tickets is $159, in comparison to the base price range of $104-$224 of a regular ticket. Recently there has been much controversy over the price of Disneyland tickets in relation to the quality of the experience, specifically revolving around overcrowding. There is an estimated 17.25 million annual visitors, which boils down to a 47,000 daily average. Although there is no explicit data indicating the number of tickets made available for Sweetheart’s Nite, what is known is that tickets sold out within 4 weeks. Videos posted to social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram depict bustling lines for initial entrance and beyond to attraction lines.

Despite the aforementioned crowds, the cute and lovey-dovey experience does contain a multitude of photo opportunities, character interactions, and shorter waiting times for rides; all of which are themed and presented to a smaller group of guests. For many, the price is worth the memories.
