Nick Cage: unbearable talent or unbearable movie?
Famous actor Nick Cage has been in countless phenomenal movies throughout the past decades; however, with Nick Cage every good movie he makes is usually followed by a bad one. Nick Cage released his new movie about his life, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” this April. Fans did not know what to expect coming into the movie considering Cage’s dicey history with radically good and bad movies. After the movie was released, there was a clear consensus of how this movie was received by the audience.
Cage’s movie, “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent,” follows Nick Cage undergoing a mid life crisis regarding his career and family. From the start of the movie, everything seems lost for Cage’s future as he has no money and is portrayed as a mess. To get some more money, a super fan of Nick Cage pays Cage one million dollars to come to his birthday party on his private island. Little does Cage know, the man whose birthday he is going to is involved in some suspicious activities such as kidnapping the president’s daughter to blackmail him out of running for president again.
Nick is then approached by the FBI about this and must figure out what is happening on that island and where the daughter of the president is. This movie is filled with high stakes contrasting with a comical undertone that lightens the intensity of the movie.
This action comedy movie has been extremely well perceived by the public. It has received an 87% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.5 on IMDb. Movie critics found this movie to be very easily invested in while also keeping the plot light hearted with relatable jokes. The movie has countless intense fighting scenes that caused the budget of the movie to be around $30 million. In gross domestic profit, the movie has so far made $26 million. With the movie still popular in cinemas across America, it is expected to exceed its budget and be profitable.
