Driving down the road to fame

Olivia Rodrigo takes the music industry by storm with her singles and pans to release her album this month.

You will get deja vu as you hear the crowd favorites singles, first “Divers License” and not long after, “Deja Vu” again in the up and coming American Singer, Olivia Rodrigo’s new album “Sour”, releasing on May 21st.

Beginning as a child actor she is most known for her work on Disney in the show, Bizzardvark, and she can also be seen on Highschool Musical the Musical Series. Now, Rodrigo is making a name for herself in the music industry. After the premier of her first single, Drivers License, the song debuted as number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, single handedly making Olivia one of the youngest artists to ever take that place. Not to mention holds the record for most streams in one day, standing at 15 million streams in 24 hours on January 11, 2021.

After such an uproar of commotion from her singles, Rodrigo is giving the fans what they want as she teased for her new album on her Instagram releasing the rest of the song titles. We look forward to listening in for, Brutal, Traitor, Drivers License, 1 Step Forward. 3 Steps Back, Deja Vu, Good 4 U, Enough for You, Happier, Jealousy. Jealousy, Favorite Crime, and Hope Ur Ok.

Even Taylor Swift commented on Rodrigo’s Instagram after her big success, “I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud,”.  Olivia continues to make history for herself being only a 17 year old on her first musical release. She is known as Disney’s first Gen Z star and is over a decade younger than other Disney actors who have turned to mainstream such as Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

Rodrigo has gained quite a following on her social media platforms with 8.2 million on Instagram. It is safe to say that Olivia is rising quickly to fame and fans can not wait to see what is in store for this next album.
