The fans cheer as the music blasts and Thomas Rhett walks on stage. Country music fanatics have been waiting for concerts to start up again for over a year. Concerts have been on hold, or rescheduled to later dates because of the pandemic.

In Fort Worth, Texas on May 6th Rhett played his first show at Billy Bob’s. He later would play four more dates in this famous honky tonk located in the Stockyards. On one of these 5 nights, special guest Randy Travis even came to surprise fans.

Rhett posted on his Instagram saying, “Thank you so much Fort Worth!! First show since October 2019”.

Many musicians have not played in over a year since they were not on tour even before restrictions shut venues down. Falling into this category, Rhett has been itching to get back on stage. Billy Bob’s gave him the perfect opportunity.

Fans who were lucky enough to go to one of these concerts at Billy Bob’s and felt great to be back in the concert scene. There is no other thing that can match the feeling fans get when everyone comes together to sing their favorite artists song. Fans loved to be united with others like that again since it had been so long.

“Felt like a dream getting back there in front of y’all playing this music again” said Rhett.

Since the lockdown began, artists tried to maintain the live performance aspect in their lives by performing on live videos through various platforms like Instagram, Facebook, etc. Artists and fans have agreed that although they love the culture of being together live, it is just not the same.

Overall, fans loved seeing live music again from a big-time artist at a normal concert scene. In unity, they were able to recreate the overwhelming feeling that a fan experiences at a concert. Many artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimmie Allen, and Jon Pardi will follow in Rhett’s lead and play concerts at Billy Bob’s in the next year.
