“Going to Santa Margarita has been an amazing experience for me as it enabled me to participate in numerous activities including Associated Student Body, Eagle TV, Peer Ministry, Model United Nations, Link Crew, and so much more. I am so grateful for all the wonderful opportunities SM has to offer, especially for the Track and Field program. I do not know where to start as it has been the best part of my high school experience. The track team’s community is amazing. It honestly feels like a family. I have established so many great bonds with the athletes and will treasure the memories we made these past four years. Additionally, the coaching is phenomenal. Each coach has been such an amazing role model to me, and I felt incredibly blessed to have them in my life as they are supportive, encouraging, knowledgeable, and know how bring out the best in everyone. I was honored when they selected me as one of the Girls’ Track & Field captains during my junior and senior years, which gave me the opportunity to encourage my teammates to realize their athletic potential and hopefully better their experience on the team. I initially joined track my freshman year to get in better shape for the soccer and increase my speed. However, I realized I loved track so much more and it soon became my dream to run in college at the Division 1 level. Thanks to the continuous support from my teammates and coaches who helped push me to my fullest potential, I was able to commit to run Track and Field at UC Santa Barbara—my dream school for as long as I can remember! “
