The Enneagram tests have become popular to many but few know what exactly it is and how it works. The word Enneagram comes from the Greek words, “Enna,” meaning nine and “Gramma,” meaning written. There are nine different personality types and from these types people can learn how to interpret their emotions.

Each number comes with a description of the personality. From this description we can get a better understanding of how our emotions can partake in our actions. Freshman, Shawna McMahon took a quiz and her results were accurate.

“98% match is a type one, the perfectionist. Type one can be thought of as the perfectionist and place a lot of emphasis on following rules and doing things correctly.” said McMahon.

The Enneagram test attains results through a symbol with the nine numbers. Each person receives all the different types of numbers but some have lower percentages than others. McMahon’s lowest percentage is understandable to her.

“44% match for type 8 which is the challenger, they see themselves as strong powerful and stand up for what they believe in, which is not how I would describe myself because I’m more quiet and shy” McMahon said.

These tests are quickly becoming a trend from people’s curiosity to learn more about themselves. By having the different personalities its exploits where you can develop as a person in those areas where your percentage is lowest.

“I feel like you already know what kind of person you are but it can remind you of things that you didn’t know about yourself which I think is really fun and cool to see” McMahon said.
