Getting the corona virus often comes as a result of spending prolonged periods of time with someone in close proximity to yourself. That is why it is recommended and promoted by many to social distance yourself from other by staying 6 feet apart at all times.

“Although the risk of severe illness may be different for everyone, anyone can get and spread COVID-19. Everyone has a role to play in slowing the spread and protecting themselves, their family, and their community,” said the CDC.

Some tips on how to social distance include avoiding public transportation, parks, restaurants, large gatherings and goings to friends house. When going outside for essential services, use protection such as a mask or gloves to reduce risk of contact with the virus.

Businesses have adapted across the country to follow the new lifestyle. Many schools have also converted to online learning to enhance sheltering in place. There have been many different approaches to social distancing, and the process is all a learning experience.

Although this may be hard for many people to accept, the CDC reminds us that this is temporary. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and we will get through this together. However, all that is left to do now to continue to practice social distancing.
