Though it’s hard to imagine life devoid of late-night Netflix binging, Instagram, or kids filming Tiktoks down the street, parents weren’t lying in saying, “Back in my day, phones didn’t even exist!” As much as it may pain us to admit, teens were better off before phones.

Although trolls use health concerns to defend their actions, these comments are a dangerous form of fatphobia. By suggesting that someone's weight determines their health, these comments enforce the false stereotype that only skinny people are healthy.
