Christmas is coming up, so that means it is time for fun and nostalgic Christmas movies. There are so many Christmas movies to watch during break in the blankets while drinking hot cocoa.
Starting off strong, “Home Alone” is a Christmas classic. It came out in 1990, and it is considered a family and comedy holiday movie to watch. The movie revolves around the character Kevin who is played by Macaulay Culkin.
The movie is about a boy named Kevin who is nine years old and has a big family. During Christmas, his whole family is in town, and they take a vacation, but they leave Kevin at home. They realize this after they get to their destination. Kevin is left all alone at his home.
The movie gets fun and exciting since they are these two burglars named Harry and Marv who try and steal from Kevin’s house. When they break into his house, he makes a lot of funny traps for them, tormenting them the entire time. They finally get arrested; and his family comes back.
There is also a second “Home Alone” and it has a similar story line, but the first one will always have a special charm to it. “Home Alone” is a great comedy and entertaining movie to watch.
Another popular Christmas movie is “Elf,” and it came out in 2002. It is an entertaining movie that will make you laugh anytime. Elf stars the one and only Will Ferrell and it is a Christmas classic.
It is about Buddy, who was transported to the North Pole when he was younger, and he is raised by elves. Buddy decides to discover the real world and travels to New York. He attempts to meet his real father, but along the way of discovering this, he realizes who he is and wants to become.
Lastly, another Christmas classic is “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” It came out in 2000 and is a movie that is funny and perfect to watch during break. Grinch, who is played by Jim Carey has a different take on Christmas.
The Grinch is always grumpy and dislikes Christmas. So, he decides to ruin Christmas for the people in Whoville who love Christmas. When he comes to Whoville, he meets Cindy Lou Who, a little girl who loves Christmas.
The Grinch decides to replace all the citizens’ Christmas gifts with coal, but he eventually realizes that Christmas does mean more. The Grinch has a change of heart and decides to enjoy Christmas with Cindy Lou Who since she helped him through the way.
Years later, an animated version called “The Grinch” came out in 2018. This movie was also popular, and it had the same storyline as the original one, but was a bit more kid friendly.
Christmas is right around the corner, and when people are on break, it is a great time to relax and watch nostalgic Christmas movies with family and friends.
