On August 18th, 2014, world renowned artist, songwriter, and producer Travis Scott released his mixtape, Days Before Rodeo. The album was not released to streaming services, and fans around the world were only able to listen to it on Soundcloud or through download.
However, Scott did not forget about this timeless release. Ten years later, on August 18th, 2024, Scott announced the highly anticipated re-release of Days Before Rodeo on digital streaming services through his Instagram account.
Days Before Rodeo has been classified by critics as a “psychedelic trap” album. Travis Scott, now known by people around the world, was only an emerging artist in 2014. Only his second official mixtape after Owl Pharaoh, Days Before Rodeo, was merely a glimpse of Scott’s efforts to become a mainstream artist. This album consists of 11 tracks, with beats produced by musical legends Mike Dean, Metro Boomin, Wondagurl, and Ye to name a few.
In addition, Scott had features on five tracks, with the most notable being Young Thug on “Skyfall”, and English pop rock band, The 1975, and Big Sean, on “Don’t Play”.
The album dropped on Friday, August 23rd, 2024. Fans are able to purchase the deluxe version on Travis Scott’s official website, which is separated into “Vaults” on this album through Scott’s website. The most recent version, Vault 4, includes new tracks with the most notable being “Houdini” with Playboi Carti, produced by Pierre Bourne.
