Last February, senior Daniel Palfi was like most others, submitting early admissions college applications and anxiously awaiting the results, whether it be acceptance or rejection. Luckily for Palfi, he was met with great news, receiving admittance to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He is now a walk on for the Johns Hopkins water polo team, which serves as progress from last October, when Palfi was last featured in a Humans of SM article.

“I’m super excited to play water polo at Johns Hopkins. The admissions process and the last couple of years of balancing a high GPA and extracurriculars with committing lots of time to water polo as well has been grueling. So, being given the opportunity to play in college for the next 4 years at my dream college is super rewarding and satisfying. All the hard work has paid off and it’s exciting to get to become a college athlete, which only 7% of high school students do.” – Daniel Palfi
