“Transferring to SM was a very big change for me because I originally came from an all-girls Catholic high school in Maryland. I think it was very bittersweet because I was excited to move out of the cold weather and come here to basically have a fresh start. Moving to a different state kept me persevering by making so many new friendships, which allowed me to look on the bright side of starting over. Sports had a huge impact on how I found my place at SM because I think being able to talk to my teammates and have upperclassmen to lean on helped me find my friend group.”
