“Ever since my sister started at SM, I’ve been excited to join campus life. She’s a senior now, and I’m a sophomore. Last year I came into school not knowing many people, but I’ve met some of my closest friends in my classes and on the volleyball team. This is my second year in wind ensemble and my third playing oboe. Half the mornings last year I had to sprint to class from the band room after dropping off my instrument to avoid being late, but it’s worth it. I would say that performing at Segerstrom is definitely one of my favorite memories freshman year. Even though we’re all running on three hours of sleep the next day, it’s always a fun night, and I hope we get to play again there soon.”
