“My freshman year has been really cool. I am taking four honors classes, and it’s harder than I thought, but it’s still great. I know a lot of people doing swim, and they also know a lot of people doing water polo. It’s weird being a freshman on varsity because it’s with a lot of older kids, but I get to know a lot of the juniors and seniors. There are also a few other freshman on varsity so I know them as well. I have been club swimming for five years and it’s really cool doing handbells. It’s a cool break from schoolwork and great to play music. Swim takes up a lot of my time but I really like how academic SMCHS is and how many opportunities there are to take honors and AP classes. It sets us up for college and the future.”
