Cameron PetersonZopf
“Many people around campus know me from either ice hockey or from my YouTube channel–hence my nickname “Cardio.” I created Cardio with Cameron, CwC, out of my love for exercise, anatomy and nutrition. I become interested in exercise and nutrition as a result of the hip injury I suffered in December of 2016. I had a femoral acetabular impingement and a labrum tear as a result of a hip disorder I have had since birth, although I only discovered the disorder through an MRI in May of 2017. Before my hip injury I had played ice hockey for seven years and the injury was in part due to playing multiple hours of ice hockey on a daily basis.”
“My love for exercise and nutrition has grown since then, and I now exercise and do rehab on my hips for two to three hours a day. Since stepping up my exercise and nutrition game, I have successfully undergone what is known as a body recomposition: I have lost 50 pounds of fat and gained 45 pounds of muscle in three years. Cardio with Cameron is my way of helping others achieve this dream as well as serving to fulfill the Full IB Independent Project. I love talking about nutrition and exercise so if you see me around campus please feel free to ask any questions or just chat.”
