My name is Ryan Jacobin and I am a senior at Santa Margarita, a filmmaker, and founder of the Film Club. Right now, we are at about forty members. What we do is focus on short films that have won Oscar awards. We try and analyze the techniques they use to implement them into our own films. We make our own short films to enter contests, which we film over breaks off campus. One of our films last year won runner up in a contest and we won an iPad pro. This year, we are making a short film about drunk driving as a public service announcement against it, which I think is a really important issue. Last year, we talked about cyberbullying. I am taking IB film classes which help me learn more about film and become a better film maker, which I am interested in pursuing in the future.
