Grandparents day
Students have the opportunity to host their grandparents.
On Nov. 7 students had the opportunity to attend mass and lead their grandparents or special friends on a tour of the campus.
The event was put on by the Grandparents Club, founded by former SMCHS teacher, Meredith Moody and SMCHS alumni parent and current grandparent, Sue McKeen.
The event attracted grandparents from as far as Panama and Hawaii, as well as grandparents of 32 grandchildren.
The morning kicked off with grandparents receiving goodie bags, photo opportunities with Saint Margaret Mary in the grotto and a continental breakfast catered by Sapphire. Grandparents were then ushered into the gym to attend mass with their grandchildren and hear from the principal, Ray Dunne, president, Andy Sulick and ASB president, Garrett Domier.
Students then led their grandparents around campus: the library, the chapel, the ETV studio and the campus store where many grandparents walked out with new Eagle attire.
“The campus store was my favorite,” Rassmusen said. “They had so much apparel, even stuff specifically for grandparents.”
After all the festivities were done the grandparents were walked to the front of the school and hugged their grandchildren goodbye.
“I was so impressed with the school,” said grandmother Pat Rassmusen. “It was so nice to finally see where my granddaughter spends so much of her time.”
