In fashion, we have been seeing vintage pieces coming back decade by decade. Since 2020, we have seen 80s fashion make a return, and from there 90s, 70s, and the 2000s. What we may be experiencing this fall is a decade we never thought we’d see a return to: the 2010s. To some people, it may be hard to believe that an era so recent may already be making a return, but there have been certain pieces and designs that have been chosen selectively and incorporated into today’s fashion. For example, fringe made its first big reappearance at Coachella 2025. From there, we have seen it incorporated in everyday outfits, most notably the return of the fringe bag. This adds a free-spirited feeling to outfits. Another bag that we have seen make a reappearance is the Chloe Paddington purse, a smaller sized purse that features an oversized lock in the front, for protective and design purposes. Some may say that the most surprising of the fall fashion comebacks are skinny jeans. Skinny jeans were a very popular style choice during the 2010s, however this style of jeans coming back has its limits and rules. All over social media, we have only really seen these jeans worn with tall brown boots pulled over them, giving them a cozy fall look. On the topic of boots, the Steve Madden Astor Brown Leather Boots are a new style of boot that has been making a rise. These feature a circular silver buckle at the bottom of them and go just below the knee. Some describe the style of them to be similar to that of a motorcycle boot. The popular usage of these is wearing them with sundresses and short skirts, making an eye-catching juxtaposition to the outfit. Characters in television shows from the 2000s-2010s have also been used as outfit inspiration among teens and young adults. For example, Pretty Little Liars character Aria Montgomery’s style has been a big inspiration for some of the pieces previously talked about as well as The Vampire Diaries Elena Gilbert. Overall, it can be predicted that every decade will make its comeback in fashion, it’s just a matter of when.
