Jedi training

Here is a quick summary of what happened a long, long time ago...in a galaxy far away.

It’s crunch time people. The Force Awakens came out last month and if you haven’t found time to sit down and watch six two-hour movies before going to the movies, it’s crunch time. Though no summary can fully convey the one-of-a-kind Star Wars experience, your most likely busy schedule only has time for a few crucial facts. You’ve got a lot to learn, young Padawan.

Need-to-knows from past movies to be up to date

  • The Force is the supernatural power used by both the good and the bad
  • The specific people (or creatures for that matter) who use the Force for good are the Jedi’s
  • Darth Vader, formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, is a Jedi in training until he ditches the light for the darkness, thus becoming everyone’s favorite villain.  Darth Vader (wait for it) is Luke’s father, and Luke goes through the same type of training but obviously, he chooses the good side
  • Darth Vader dies but rumor has it his love for the dark side plays a pivotal role in the upcoming film
  • Meanwhile Han Solo and Princess Leia have their own thing going on outside of Luke and Vader’s dispute, and that is their relationship. Fingers crossed they’re still together decades later.
  • *Spoiler Alert* All six movies ended with the good guys winning and the bad guys losing
  • “The Force Awakens” is set 30 years after Episode Six: Return of the Jedi, so the original three are going to look a little different.
  • In the upcoming film, it’s the First Order (the new bad guys) vs. the Resistance (new good guys)
  • Two new characters are introduced. Rey is a scavenger trying to find her way in the universe. And Finn, is a storm trooper who reportedly turns Jedi.
  • The good guys win.
